Ana Nycole Gomes, who spent her teens training as a nun, left her life in the convent because of a single, offhand remark. When she was 16, a stranger told her she was "too beautiful to be a nun."
This comment acted as a permission to question the secluded life she believed was her destiny. Ana realized she wasn't ready to give up her youth, desires, and freedom before truly experiencing the world.
She ultimately traded her habit for a bikini, embracing yoga as a new form of discipline. She now teaches on the beach, viewing the sensuality she was taught to fear as sacred. Leaving the path was her first step toward freedom and becoming the woman she truly is.
